We then walked slowly to the airport while pushing the luggage trolley. There were ten of us with fourteen luggages. So merry!
Checking in! Dropping the luggages off our shoulders! |
After checking in most of our luggages, we walked slowly inside. While three went into international lounge, the rest of us waited outside nearby the gate.
Sharing food, sharing happiness |
The plane took off quite on time. Once seated, I dozed myself to sleep and woke up only to witness a great sunrise before drifting back to sleep.

We landed at Baiyun International Airport Guangzhou around 10:00 am. Clearing immigration was a pain in the ass due to the dragon long queue. We had agreed that those finished immigration should quickly go downstairs to claim the baggage. We needed to move fast because our domestic flight to Zhangjiajie was scheduled at 11:40 am.
We finished collecting all the luggages at around 10:30 am. Lucky for us, the check in counter for China Southern domestic flight was so near. After checking in and dropping our luggages, we went up the escalator to go to the domestic terminal.
And taa daaa.
A buggy was waiting for us.
Yes. A buggy. |
This buggy drove us to the edge of domestic terminal. The rest we continued on foot. One thing we were so sad about was the change of gate without information. Only when we reached the original gate (which was at the end of the terminal), we were informed that the gate had changed. So we walked again.
The rest of the journey went smoothly. We got executive class with wider seat and extra leg room.
We arrived at Zhangjiajie Airport and found that the airport was so cute and tiny. We indeed saw some construction nearby the airport but still the airport was too small. Once you walked down from the plane, you would be at the back of the airport terminal building. Then you walked in, you could see the front door already.
Our tour guide, Bruce Tian, was already there to pick us up with my name written on a card board.
And we officially started our journey in Zhangjiajie!
